[Tips] Setsuko's House Upgrade Guide
Author: Setsuko 10-10-2008 Views:

Unfortunately, my Trojan guide is so massive, that they won't post it at all, not even if I divide them up in to parts! I've been trying for weeks now, but they won't post it. Even right now I'm building upon it, since I've gotten second reborn on my trojan, and have more tips to include.

If you want my trojan guide, please email me at imposterian@gmail.com and request it! I don't answer emails with no subjects so at least put "CO Trojan guide" as the subject!

House Upgrade Guide

House upgrades take us less time to make. I remember when I made my first house upgrade, I was like, "Wow, that took no time at all," and it won't. It is still time consuming however. Unfortunately this time, the quest NPC only accepts copper ores (bummer). Copper ores can be mined in Phoenix mines, and that means frequent traffic by other players doing blue mouse quest, and most likely multiple deaths. Well that's a nice overview I guess, let's get down to business. Please remember, you may use a different method than me, and that's OK, just don't think your method is the right way and everyone has to do it your way. (This and the house guide I made were based off what CO already provided. The rest is personal experiences.)

How do I do the quest?

Like the house quest, there is no NPC to initiate the quest; you can just go start mining at Phoenix mines.

When you are full with copper ore you need to bring all of your ore to the Stoneman in the market (184,103), and trade 12 copper to him for one Copper ore Voucher. Repeat this until you have 10 Copper Ore Vouchers, then talk to Stoneman with 10 Copper Ore Vouchers to get an Ore Voucher. It takes 10 Ore Vouchers to receive a House Upgrade Certificate. It cost 500,000 silvers with the House Admin (199,87), along with the certificate. After you pay up, unlike when you made your house, you won't get instant access. You have to wait until the next server maintenance is over before you can go back to your home. Sorry.

So, let's figure some stuff out like how many ores and all that. I was in a rush last time and got my math off by 5, but this time I have plenty of time. if I still get it wrong, oh well, I'm not perfect, at least I tried :).

Break down:

Ore=O (in this guide, assume it means Copper Ore.)

Copper Ore Voucher=CV

Ore Voucher=OV

12 O = 1 CV

10 CV = 1 OV

10 OV = 1 Upgrade

It takes 1,200 Copper ores to make a house certificate.

How many trips are we looking at? (Skip this if you don't care for math. I don't like it either.)

When you're mining, at max you can hold 39 ores, but this time, only 36 spaces are required, so this gives you some leeway with gold. If you get gold, you can sell it to an NPC, save it for quests, or sell it in your market shop if it's a high enough rate for quests. I really hate it when I get 4 gold ores, but if you have a 2nd person just give all your gold to them and cash in when you are done. Sure, this decreases the amount of ores they can hold, but it doesn't matter, they're only there to hold ores, so why not gold. Anyway, you get 36 ore to turn in with 3 extra, so every 4 trips, you'll get 1 extra Copper Ore Voucher, 3 ores per 4 trips =12 ore=1 CV. Let's take 1200 ores and divide by 36 ores every one trip. It equals out to 33.3 repeating. so we will say 33 and round it off; this is how many it would take with out the extra 12 ores included. Every 4 trips you should be getting 13 CV or 156 ores. 36+36+36+36+12(12 comes from the 3 extra ores that you would store until the fourth trip.) If you take the 156 you should get every 4 trips, and multiply it by 8, it equals out to 1248 ores, so you'll be over shooting your goal by 48. if you divide 1200 by 156 ores every 4 trips, it'll equal out to 7.69 difference to that 33.3 repeating if you don't use the extra ores. So. 33.3 minus 7.69 equals out to 25.61 or rounded off to 26 trips.

Tips and Personal Experiences

There's a couple of things you need to remember when going to Phoenix mine:

Your runner (term explained in house making guide) must be a water tao around level 55ish with Divine Hare. Phoenix Mines is far away from Phoenix Castle and you have to be level 40 to enter this mine anyway.

If you want to set up two miners, then I suggest it either be a Fire tao, or archer as your second character to fend off a PKer. (Fire Tao doesn't really need his BS, but you can bring a normal one just in case; archers, find an invaluable 2 socket bow and throw a couple of normal dragon gems in it. bring some arrows too =D.)

Whether youre mining with one or two characters, you need to hide well in the mine. There is frequent traffic in this mine with people doing blue mouse quest and Pkers looking for these people, or for you helplessly AFK mining.

First of all, if you've done the blue mouse quest, you know it only appears in certain areas on a map. Stay away from these areas. (Maps or coordinates of where it appears can be found on the forums.)

Another given is stay away from the walls, unless you're watching constantly.

If you find yourself not getting any ores after 15 minutes or so, re-right click, or move to another spot. I usually like to cast Star of Accuracy and then right clicking again, but Accuracy working with mining is just another myth. If you think that it works, or have a certain myth you think is true, then by all means do it, you're the one mining anyway.

As far as turning in ores, the method is up to you. I mentioned before, I like to let both miners fill up, and then run one set in, come back, get the other, and then leave them both mining again. This is so I can go AFK and do other things than stare at the screen, such as reading a book, watching tv, whatever you like to do. Just remember a watched pot never boils....well it does eventually, but it means go away, come back and you should see results.
As far as time line goes, working on it in my spare time, with just one tao, it took me 3 to 4 days depends on how lucky I am while mining. With 2, it took about 2-3 days. If I do nothing but mine, it takes me about 2-3 days with 1 tao, and 1-2 days with 2 characters. If you have friends helping, or have more than one computer that I mentioned in the house making guide, then it will take you hours. Remember, if you and a group of friends are doing it; make sure you have a Protector (preferably a high powered Archer or Fire Tao.)

If you plan on selling your upgrade, know they cost about a little less than a house permit. And surprisingly, on Eagle, a house cost more than Dragonballs!? Either the few people I saw selling it didn't know the price and was guessing or it's true. Either way 35-40m is too much. Please remember that all prices vary from server to server, and these prices may not apply to your server.

Well I enjoyed writing this guide and I hope it helps you upgrade your house a little more quickly.

If you have any questions, would like any of my guides in a text document, or request I write a guide you can email me at imposterian@gmail.com.

My name is Setsuko, and I play on Eagle Server, the best server.
