Chapter Four - Guardian at the Gate

"So... Who was that person?"

"I don't quite know Sei... if only Jaykunn was paying more attention to the problem and not to his food, we could have got some clues."

"Shut up Church! You always throw your mouth out to talk about others!"

"Well it's true!"

"GUYS! We should just get along, remember what the Taoist Star said...

We must take care and protect one another. Don't let our personal problems interfere!"

*Sigh* "What's up Church?"

"Well if you guys must know... The Taoist star is my Great grandfather..."

"BLAH WHAT!"

"Jay... relax let Church continue..."

"It'll all happen a while back, he and I went out on a hunt for pheasants one day. He was teaching me the ways of a Trojan. After a few pheasants being sliced up, one of the pheasant lit up and began to transform into a stone shape emblem. At first I thought it was first burning standing at the angle that I was, but when he and I got closer it began to glow and became more revealing. It was the Phoenix Gem."

Wow I never thought the Taoist star was his great great great?

Whatever... His grandfather, Oh man!

"Hey Jay! HELLO you there?!"

"WOAH?"

"We're here guys"

"WELL?! WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR! LET'S GO!"

"NO JAY DON'T!"

"Church look someone is blocking our way, he's standing at the gate!"

"That's no he Sei, it's a she."

"Damn it, those wings are huge!"

Phoenix Castle is a well know place for only one thing the diamond that shines in the sky when the sun ray beams after a horrifying rain storm. Many have come to watch the stone glitter in its place and many have also come to seek it.

"Church, may you do the honors? you might be able to talk to her you are of high class in our village."

"Right! I'll give it a shot."

Church walks up to the stranger and greets her as if she was one of the people of Birth Village.

"Greeting Miss, My friends and I have come to seek the diamond in the sky, we're from Bir..."

"CHURCH! WATCH OUT!"

With the cry of Seidas! Church dodged the sniping arrow.

"We knew you people are with him!"

"With who?! Sei? Church?"
 
"Don't act dumb kid!"

"Hey! I am not no kid, lady"!

"Well I don't care who you people are! The stone stays! If you want it get through me!"

With her defensive words, her wings spread and it soared into great heights. Tilting her body forward one eye closed; taking aim she fired her arrows.

"Jay watch out!"

Jay jumped out of the way but his pouch was hit. The Phoenix Gem flew out and landed beside Seidas.

"Seidas! Beside you!"

"Got it Church!"

Seidas rolled over to his left snatched the gem and arise to get his Mana backsword. Suddenly the Phoenix Gem started to shine bright, the light slowly moved from the gem to the backsword and worked its way in covering Seidas. He was being devoured but he wasn't losing anything... he was gaining... the Phoenix Gem was granting enhancement towards his powers.

"Jay, look at Sei!"

"I told you he would beat yah!"

"CUT IT OUT!"

"Oh jeez relax!"

From the Phoenix Gem, Seidas has gained the wings of the phoenix. His magic ability suddenly burst like there was no limit, like as if it was running water down a river.

"Jay can you do the honors?"

"You bet Sei! Lady it's time for an emergency landing because you just cross the board to a no flying zone, have a taste of my Archer Bane!"

Jaykunn's archer bane flew and penetrated the wings of the stranger, she was now grounded and in trouble"

"Sei, Jay! Looks like she brought company!"

"Wait What!"

"These aren't my people! They're bandits; they live in the forest around the castle."

"Damn it! More trouble!"

"Seidas can you...?"

All of a sudden, arrows flew across the field and scattered at the bandits.

"WOAH! What was that!"

"That was her scatter!"

"How do you know Church?"

"He's a preacher see? You can guess where he got his name from..."

"Watch it Jay! Well anyways I've seen people like her before, they're known as archers. They're power are quite unique but only their agility, without it their bow would be quite useless."

"Ahh, so I see."

"SO WHO ARE LADY?!"

"I am known as the Mystic Angel Lynn, I am the guardian of this here castle gate. I was entrusted by the Water Saints to protect the gem in the sky!"

"A gem huh?"

"Jaykunn any ideas?"

"Nope no clue! Ha-ha!"

"Idiot..."

"WHAT WAS THAT!"

"GUYS NOT AGAIN, at least not now!"

"If you people wish you pass, you must answer the riddle on this here gate."

"Sei, looks like it's you and me, Jaykunn might have some trouble..."

"Huh? Why?"

"That's it! Church it's a rainbow!"

"Don't get it Jaykunn is looking for a rainbow cause the gem is near it!"

"Wrong Sei, I'm looking for the rainbow because the gem is IT!"

"The rainbow is it?"

"Yeah it's known as the Rainbow Gem!"

"Correct and only I can get you that gem, and since I'm injured it looks like you're out of luck!"

"Well then, we'll just have to wait and see what happens."

Who are these kids, and how do they know so much about the gem? Are they the pure of hearts or the evil of souls...?

"Hey ladies, your not going to have us standing out here all day are you?!"

"Ah! Right please step through...!"

"It's getting late we should find a place to stay."

"You're right Sei."

"How about you come with me and I'll bring you to our Elder he might know a place for you to stay."
